A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Kenneth Proulx, Nathan Morin, Nicole Plourde, Donald Labrecque, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Dan Record, Liz Deen, Gary Bisson, Georgia Caron, Amy Huter, Tim Forestall, Roland Pinette, Cheryl Pinette, Jane Provencher, Kelley Keniston, Beth Pahigian, Veronique Legendre, and Deb Dupuis.
MINUTES On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the October 22, 2012 meeting, public session. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Kenneth Proulx, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, October 29, November 5, and November 6, 2012 for the amounts of $4,074.27, $10,695.63 and $368,379.20 respectively. Discussion ensued regarding a catastrophic aid expense. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
FINANCIAL REPORT The Board reviewed and approved the financial report.
COMMENTS None
EARLY GRADUATION On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Kenneth Proulx, the Board voted to approve an early graduation request. The motion passed unanimously.
2nd RDG POLICIES On a motion by Nathan Morin, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the second reading of Policy – ILBAA – High School Competency Assessments. The motion passed unanimously.
MANUALS On a motion by Nathan Morin, seconded by Kenneth Proulx, the Board voted to approve the Student/Parent and Staff Manuals as presented by the Administrators. The motion passed unanimously.
SUPER’S REPORT The Superintendent informed the Board of the following issues:
- Capital Improvement Plan
- Wellness Committee
- World Language Trip
COMMENTS Gary Bisson commented that the Hockey Legends Banquet and Hockey game was a great success. Berlin received positive recognition for its years as a hockey town. Donald Labrecque commented on the success of the program and how well the students participated in the event.
NEW BUSINESS Nicole Plourde congratulated the BHS Girls’ Field Hockey team on how well they did and that they have much to be proud of.
NON PUBLIC The Board agreed there was no need for a nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Kenneth Proulx, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the following staffing changes:

The motion passed unanimously.
All nominations are contingent on the applicant passing a background check.
ADJOURN On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 6:55 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
